Position Overview

Embry Health is seeking an experienced Director of Compliance to join our Compliance Team to help us meet our compliance needs. The Director of Compliance will be responsible for ensuring that all Embry Health licenses and employees are constantly operating and functioning within all applicable state regulations. This includes day-to-day operations as well as annual recertifications, employee badges, and inspections with the state. You will maintain and improve the company’s compliance management program and assist in maintaining legal compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to Embry Health business across its subsidiaries. The position works closely with stakeholders across the company, including executive management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directs all programs, policies, and practices to ensure all business units are in compliance with operational and reporting requirements
  • Achieve and maintain an understanding of Embry Health’s business lines, operations, policies, and objectives
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive, multi-state, compliance program
  • Fully understand and implement all state regulations, including modifications as regulations change/update
  • Work closely with the General Counsel to ensure the growth, development, and effectiveness of the company’s compliance management program
  • Participate in the design, execution, and evaluation of compliance policies and procedures
  • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in developing, implementing, maintaining, and updating corporate policies and procedures
  • Responsible for interpreting, supporting, and executing policies and compliance procedures within all facilities
  • Track, escalate and resolve compliance-related issues identified across the company
  • Investigate compliance claims under the company’s internal investigations policy
  • Support the Legal Department in coordinating with federal or state examiners as directed by executive management
  • Lead the charge for compliance within the building on a daily basis
  • Responsible for the oversight of weekly, monthly, and annual reports, documents both for internal and department purposes
  • Develop and maintain a compliance calendar
  • Keep up to date with the new regulatory requirements and ensure communication of best practices and new rules to appropriate staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related fields to Compliance, Healthcare, etc. Master’s degree preferred
  • At least seven (5) years of experience in a corporate healthcare role and a strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, laws, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with laws, regulations, and industry guidance that affect the healthcare industry
  • Multi-state experience a desired
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
  • Ability to interact professionally and credibly with employees and colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
